A Group of Students from the Biomedical Sciences Department Joined Forces with the Jordanian Autism Center for World Autism Day
Under the supervision of the Head of the Biomedical Sciences Department, a compassionate initiative unfolded at Sami Abdulrahman Park as students from Cihan University-Erbil’s Biomedical Sciences Department partnered with the Jordanian Autism Center-Erbil to observe World Autism Day. On April 2, 2024, the park transformed into a haven of understanding and support for children affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Focusing their efforts on those directly impacted by ASD, the students organized a range of tailored activities to provide a nurturing environment for children with autism. From sensory play to therapeutic exercises, every moment was crafted to cater to the unique needs of these special individuals.
The collaboration between the university students and the Autism Center not only showcased their dedication to community engagement but also emphasized the importance of creating inclusive spaces for children with autism. Their joint endeavor aimed to foster acceptance and empowerment within the broader Erbil community. As the world marked World Autism Day, this heartfelt gesture served as a beacon of hope, highlighting the transformative power of empathy and solidarity in supporting children with autism and their families.
