A Scientific Trip to the Modern Dental Care Center

The College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil, in cooperation with the Modern Dental Care Center in Erbil City-Kurdistan, organized a scientific trip for its first-stage students on March 31, 2024, to visit the aforementioned center. The trip was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Rana Khaleel Hadi. Modern Dental Care Center is one of the most professional private dental centers where different dental cases have been diagnosed and treated by specialist and consultant dentists. The visit aimed to identify the methods that have been recently utilized in the center regarding modern technologies for digital imaging, three-dimensional diagnostic radiology, dental prosthodontics, restorative fillings, and modern devices used in the field of dental implants. Additionally, it was held to identify modern digital techniques employed in the design of smiles.

The students were welcomed by Dr. Layla Gardy, and they enjoyed listening to a brief description of each section given by the specialist dentists of the center. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to observe dental professionals in action and witness dental examinations. At the end of the visit, the students asked questions and engaged in discussions with the dentist and supervisor. They also gained valuable insights into dentistry applications through the cooperation between the laboratory and the dental clinic. This included processes such as digital scanning of the teeth to create accurate digital prints and obtain the required shape for the design, even if it was a bit complicated. This trip not only broadened the students’ knowledge in the field of modern dentistry but also inspired them to practice it in an ideal way. At the end of the trip, the students expressed their excitement about being involved in such an activity.
