On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, a group of second-year students from the College of Dentistry at Cihan University-Erbil attended a seminar titled ‘Comprehensive Full-Mouth Rehabilitation via Dental Implants’ under the supervision of Lecturer Razan Burhaneddin Mohammad. The students were Zhala Rizgar Omar, Sipan Saber Ismail, and Dana Jabbar Omar.
Delivered by Dr. Hiwa Karim, a dental specialist, the seminar focused on modern modalities for full-mouth rehabilitation using dental implants, emphasizing maxilla implant-supported prostheses.
Furthermore, Dr. Hiwa discussed two-piece implant systems, the primary etiology of implant failure, and clinical management strategies for implant-related complications. The primary causes of implant failure include inadequate osseointegration, insufficient bone support, peri-implantitis, improper implant placement, and excessive mechanical overload.
In conclusion, the speaker described clinical protocols for managing implant complications, highlighting the critical importance of meticulous treatment planning, infection control, implant maintenance, and preventive measures to achieve long-term surgical and prosthetic success.
