Two students from the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil participated in a community volunteer project aimed at collecting books for a mobile library and encouraging reading among members of the community.
The initiative is supported by the Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA).
The two students, Yousif Ahmed Khudhair and Abdullah Amjad Nasser, both fourth-year students in the Media Department, took part in this voluntary initiative under the slogan “Books Lighting the Dark.” The project aims to provide reading opportunities and improve access to knowledge for a wider audience by collecting books and making them available through the mobile library.
The initiative is based on the idea that every donated book is more than just a book; it represents a new opportunity for learning, a source of knowledge, and a light of hope for others.
The project also emphasizes the importance of strengthening the spirit of volunteerism and community cooperation while promoting a culture of reading among members of society.
Furthermore, it highlights how Iraqi society, despite the crises and challenges it has faced throughout its history, continues to value education, knowledge, and reading.
