A Scientific Visit by the Media Department to the Rudaw Satellite Channel

On 21 February 2023 (February), the Department of Media from the College of Arts at Cihan University – Erbil organized a scientific visit to the Rudaw Satellite Channel in Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Omar Hassan Fahmy.

The students of the Media Department were welcomed by the Director of Public Relations of the aforementioned channel, Mr. Muhammad Khoshnaw, who gave an overview of the channel’s establishment, its activities, and media achievements. Later, they went to the Recording Studio and met with the technical director of the channel, Mr. Muhammada Kurdi, who explained the technical management of the studio in the channel and the uses of the camera and angle photography for filming a special news bulletin and photographing studio guests.

This was followed by a meeting with Head of the Radio and Television News Department, Mr. Farman Salih, where he explained the steps for obtaining the news and how to choose news suitable for publication.

The trip was followed by moving to the News Gathering Department and met with the department director, Mr. Beston Nuri, where he gave the students a detailed explanation of the nature of the work of the delegate and the press reporter, how to write and present the television news, as well as writing for the news on the radio. Next, he accompanied the students in the department to inform Nahla about the methods and nature of work.

The visit was greatly welcomed by the students and a wonderful response through the students’ interaction with the explanations provided by the channel’s workers, which included many questions and inquiries about the media work in the channel.

At the end of this visit, symbolic gifts and Rudaw Satellite Channel brochures were distributed to the students. Thanks and appreciation were expressed to the Rudaw Satellite Channel for the opportunity given.
