A Scientific Visit for the Interior Design Department Students to the Erbil Citadel

The Department of Interior Design organized a scientific visit for its fourth-stage students to the citadel in Erbil. It was held on October 12, 2023 (Thursday) as part of their Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings course taken under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Aws Ahmed. The visit was accompanied by Engineer Ahmed who is responsible for the heritage houses of the castle.

The professor with the site supervisor, shared a detailed explanation of all parts of the citadel, focusing on the old houses, the building’s materials, as well as the project’s interior plans. The students prepared a full survey of the dimensions of the housing units in the project, in order to identify the different aspects of the design process to identify the spaces and nature of the area before starting the interior design of the projects selected for the students.
