A Seminar on ‘The Effects of Fast Food on Body Weight’ Presented by the Biomedical Sciences Department Students at Cihan College High School
On Thursday, 23rd November 2023, the third-stage Biomedical Sciences Department students of Cihan University – Erbil presented a seminar for Cihan College High School students under the supervision of Dr. Ali M. Hussein, the Head of the Biomedical Sciences Department.
The Biomedical Sciences Department students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Mahmood Imad Mohammed, the Director of Cihan College High School. In a compelling seminar hosted by these students, they shed light on the profound effects of fast-food consumption on body weight. Delving into meticulous research findings, the seminar explored the correlation between fast food intake and its repercussions on overall health.
Addressing a packed auditorium, the young students presented comprehensive studies showcasing the detrimental impacts of regular fast-food consumption. They emphasized the direct relationship between high-calorie, low-nutrient fast foods and the alarming rise in obesity rates among adolescents.
Throughout the seminar, various studies and statistics were unveiled, underscoring the adverse effects of excessive fast food indulgence, ranging from increased body mass index (BMI) to a higher risk of developing chronic health conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
