A Student from the Physiotherapy Department Invents an Electronic Arm
Hajar Muhammad Ali, a Physiotherapy Department student at Cihan University – Erbil, completed her project titled ‘‘A Smart Artificial Electronic Arm for People’’. It is an advanced electronic arm that combines smart function and sustainability for people who lose their arm, especially during war and accidents.
In this context, the project owner said: ‘‘Prosthetic limb technology has developed significantly in recent years, and the bionic arm has become one of the distinctive innovations in this field. The bionic arm has a range of distinctive features that make it an ideal solution for people who need prosthetic limbs. One of the hallmarks of the bionic arm is its intelligent function, which uses advanced technology to enable natural movement and the ability to adapt to the surrounding environment’’.
Hajar Muhammad Ali also said ‘‘People who use a bionic arm can perform everyday tasks easily and independently. Long-term sustainability is also a hallmark of the bionic arm. This arm is designed in a way that allows for the recycling of materials, achieving reliable performance, and extended long-term use. This makes it a sustainable and cost-effective option. Our inspiring bionic arm designs are innovative and redefine the concept of prosthetics. These designs include innovative concepts that combine advanced technology and aesthetic design. In addition, individuals can customize their bionic arm to reflect their personal style and unique identity.
The bionic arm enhances pride and confidence for people who use it, as it is a symbol of empowerment and an individual’s ability to overcome challenges. This feature contributes to enhancing self-image and improving the quality of life for individuals dependent on the bionic arm. This is considered the first step in the project, and the arm will be developed to be more advanced.
