A VISIT BY KURDISTAN HIGH SCHOOL TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES, CIHAN UNIVERSITY-ERBIL
On 13 March 2022, the Department of Biomedical Sciences of Cihan University- Erbil received a group of students from Kurdistan High School. The students along with their teachers visited the aforementioned department on this day for the reasons to increase the students’ knowledge of the Biomedical Sciences field and to familiarize them with the department, its teaching staff including students.
During the visit, the students were given the opportunity to enter and see the various laboratories offered by that department for its students. These included Medical Microbiology, Human Physiology, Molecular, and Genetics laboratories.
Other than accessing the authentic materials and tools available in those laboratories, the students were provided with the general as well as latest information related to the Biomedical Sciences field for the students’ benefit. This informative session delivered by Assistant Lecturers Ms. Hevi Seerwan Ghafour and Mr. Sirwan Ahmed Rashid including Lab Assistant Ms. Lava Sardar Khatab was followed by a question-and-answer session. It was an interactive session, as all students posed the questions of their interest in turns and they were provided with prompt responses.
After leaving the department, the students together with their teachers were exposed to the campus environment and went to some areas of the university, namely the Culture House, the Building of Science Faculty, and many more.
Prior to departing from Cihan University, the teachers, as well as the students, expressed their thank you message to the staff of the Biomedical Sciences Department and Cihan University for the invaluable experience they had.
