A Workshop on the Occasion of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In celebration of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department, in collaboration with the Medical Microbiology and Informatics and Software Engineering Departments, organized an awareness workshop titled “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence as a Modern Tool for Early Breast Cancer Detection.” The workshop took place on Sunday, October 22, 2023. The esteemed presence of Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, the respected President of the University, along with a distinguished number of faculty members and students, graced the event.
The workshop commenced with an opening speech by Mr. Omar Adil Mohammed Ali, the Head of the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department. He welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude for the support provided by the University’s presidency, especially Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, for the continuous presence and monitoring of all activities and events that align with global advancements. This is particularly crucial for sensitive topics like breast cancer, which has become a global concern.
Following the opening, the workshop featured three lectures: Assistant Professor Dr. Ameena Sabah Mahmoud Jumaa, the Head of the Medical Microbiology Department, delivered a lecture on “11 Facts About Breast Cancer.”, Assistant Lecturer Noor Sami Omar from the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department presented a lecture on “Empowering breast cancer diagnosis through radiation.” also, Dr. Fatima Albatoul Husari from the Informatics and Software Engineering Department gave a lecture on “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence for Breast Cancer Detection.”
After the lectures, a Q&A session was held to address questions and input, which received significant engagement and enthusiasm from the attendees.
