Biomedical Sciences Department Students: A Medical Activity at Majidi Land
A number of medical activities are conducted by the Biomedical Sciences Department students on a regular basis. On 10 November 2022 (Thursday), a medical activity was organized at Majidi Land.
The activity was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Mr. Mohammed M. Hussein where the students engaged in receiving visitors and focusing on every single detail of those suffering from stomach disease or diabetes. On this day, Lifotronic technology was used to detect diabetes and H. pylori (stomach bacteria). A blood test was also done to identify the blood group of each visitor.
Various medical tests were conducted by the students with the aim of increasing public awareness of different diseases such as brain cancer, liver disease, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and kidney failure. About 25 and 75 tests were done for detections of H. Pylori and blood sugar, respectively. The test results were delivered to the visitors within 10 minutes.
Giving students hands-on experience with activities in their field is part of advanced educational approaches.
