Biomedical Sciences Department Students Organized a Medical Activity in Conjunction with International Diabetes Day

As the usual activities of the Biomedical Sciences Department students of Cihan University-Erbil, a medical activity was organized at Hawler School 2 on 1 November 2022 (Tuesday).

The activity was supervised by Head of the aforementioned department, Dr. Ali M. Hussein where the students delivered their talks and explained several types of diseases in general, especially the different types of diabetes and gastric ulcer diseases. They were engaged in receiving students, especially high school students. They also focused on every single detail of the students suffering from stomach disease and/or diabetes.

 Lifotronic technology was utilized for measurement purposes to detect diabetes and stomach bacteria, H. Pylori. Almost 80, 25, and 100 tests were run to detect diabetes (HbA1c), H. Pylori, and blood group type, respectively. They delivered the test results to the same students via email or gave them the hard copy test results 20 minutes later.

Having the students face real working life related to their field is part of cutting-edge educational practice.
