Cihan University-Erbil Announces Opportunity for Students to Participate in a Health, Safety, and Environment Course at Palacky University in the Czech Republic
Corresponding to its continuous endeavors to foster international relations and elevate academic standards, Cihan University-Erbil is pleased to announce an opportunity for (10) students from its engineering, medical, and health sciences departments to participate in a specialized training course in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) at Palacky University Olomouc in the Czech Republic.
This four-day course, scheduled from January 26, 2026, to January 30, 2026, will take place at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The first day of the course will provide a comprehensive introduction to HSE and its significance in engineering fields, focusing on types of hazards and risk assessment, safety signs, personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency procedures, as well as equipment safety and handling.
The second day of the course will cover topics such as occupational safety and environmental awareness, workplace accident prevention, fire safety and evacuation plans, environmental pollution and control, waste management in engineering, and environmental regulations and sustainability. On the third day, the course will focus on the laboratory working environment, discussing aspects of general laboratory safety, chemical safety and handling procedures, risk assessment and mitigation in laboratories, and equipment and facility safety.
To enhance the practical understanding of HSE applications in the workplace, a field trip will be organized for students and participants. On the final day, participants will be introduced to HSE systems and emergency response, incident reporting and roles in HSE, and emergency preparedness and first aid.

The participation of Cihan University-Erbil students in this course is in line with the terms of a cooperation agreement signed between Cihan University-Erbil and Palacky University Olomouc in the Czech Republic.
