Cihan University-Erbil Awards Graduation Certificates to 89 Pedagogical Course Participants

A Certificate- Awarding Ceremony was held by and on the premises of Cihan University-Erbil on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 to 89 teachers from the Ministry of Education who successfully completed the pedagogical training course at Cihan University-Erbil.
The event was attended by Dr. Alan Hama Saeed, Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government; Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil; University Vice Presidents; the General Director of Education in Erbil; as well as Deans, Heads of the scientific departments and faculty members of Cihan University-Erbil.
The event began with a speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi. After welcoming Dr. Alan Hama Saeed Saleh, , and other distinguished guests, Professor Al-Delawi congratulated the participating teachers on their achievement and expressed his hope that the knowledge gained from the course would contribute to the advancement of schools and the overall education system.
Prof. Al-Delawi thanked Dr. Alan Hama Saeed Saleh for his commitment to strengthening the connection between education and higher education. The Minister acknowledged that from the beginning of his tenure, he firmly believed that these two sectors are complementary. Based on this vision, he has fostered strong relationships between the Ministry of Education and universities, including Cihan University-Erbil, as well as institutions in Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and beyond.
Discussing the essential link between education and higher education, Prof. Al-Delawi asserted on the fact that:
“Graduates of the education system enter universities, which is why it is essential for every country to have a unified strategy for both education and higher education. These strategies should not be separate for each ministry or tied to temporary administrative policies but should instead be professionally designed to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational framework at all levels.”
The President made several suggestions for joint collaboration between Cihan University and the Ministry of Education. These suggestions focused on administrative and managerial aspects, inspired by Karl Marx’s concept that the elements of production are land, labour, and capital.
For this reason, he urged the Minister of Education to pay greater attention to management and administration, stating:
“Even if all the necessary factors exist within an institution, without proper management, it cannot produce successful outcomes. To enhance our work and achieve better results, I suggest that we prioritize the development of human capabilities in administration and management—particularly within the education sector, including school administration.”
He further emphasized that administration consists of four key aspects: Financial Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management and Operational Administration.
At the same time, Prof. Al-Delawi suggested that the Ministry of Education, through the Directorate General of Training and Development, should conduct an evaluation of the past three pedagogy courses offered in universities. This evaluation would help assess the impact of the courses on schools and their overall effectiveness.
Afterwards, Dr. Alan Hama Saeed, Minister of Education, delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the President of Cihan University-Erbil, praising the role of the teachers and trainers involved in the pedagogy course, stating:
“We are pleased that the program is progressing successfully.”
He further added that in this course, 89 teachers from the General Directorate of Education in Erbil participated, and in total, 263 teachers have received training in essential educational fields. For this achievement, he extended his thanks to Cihan University-Erbil for their collaboration and support.
The Minister of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government reiterated his support for the implementation of each of the recommendations made by the President of Cihan University-Erbil. He emphasized that the administrative field is a crucial area for enhancing the overall level of education and management within the sector.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Minister of Education and the President of Cihan University-Erbil exchanged tokens of honour as a symbol of mutual appreciation and collaboration. Following this, certificates of participation were granted to the teachers and trainers who successfully completed the pedagogy course.
