Cihan University-Erbil help the Kurdistan Region be marked on FAO World Map
Cihan University-Erbil, a leading university in Kurdistan Region and Iraq, helped the Kurdistan Region and Iraq be noticeable on the world map again.
The occasion of World Food Day is celebrated on October 16 every year. This year, under the supervision and presence of the president of Cihan University-Erbil, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics organized an event and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) highlighted the activities held by Cihan University-Erbil for World Food Day.
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University-Erbil, as the only university in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region possessing Nutrition Department, marked Erbil and Kurdistan’s position on the map of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) which is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN).
This year, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in collaboration with the medical departments of Cihan University-Erbil, organized a Food Festival and Medical Exhibition at the University Campus for two days October 12th-13t, 2022. Several activities were done to celebrate the occasion.
The commemoration of this day by Cihan University-Erbil was warmly welcomed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) because it is the only official academic institution in Kurdistan and Iraq to celebrate this day.
