Cihan University-Erbil Representative Presents Scholarly Discourse on the Technological Landscape of the Kurdistan Region in South Korea
In the technologically advanced city of Seongnam, South Korea, Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi, a distinguished representative of Cihan University-Erbil, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the current state of Information Technology (IT) and the strategic imperatives of digital transformation in the Kurdistan Region.
His participation formed part of the international programme “Capacity Building for Digital Transformation and Innovation Strategy” in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). This initiative aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and enhance participants’ abilities to develop and implement forward-thinking digital policies.
During the session, Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi provided a detailed analysis of the Kurdistan Region’s existing technological infrastructure, highlighting both opportunities for growth and the challenges facing the sector. He emphasized the vital role academic institutions play in this transformation pointing to Cihan University-Erbil’s commitment to developing specialized human capital equipped for the demands of the digital age.
Seongnam represents a global benchmark in technology and innovation, Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi remarked. “My presentation aimed to offer a clear and in-depth overview of the IT landscape in the Kurdistan Region and its future direction”. The session was attended by a high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government, including senior officials and digital transformation experts from various ministries and public institutions. Korean specialists were also present, fostering a valuable exchange of perspectives between local policymakers and international experts.
