Cihan University-Erbil sets a new record in World Webometrics ranking of universities
Cihan University-Erbil has once again been able to establish a new record in the newest webometrics ranking of world universities, taking a step forward globally.
On Tuesday, January 31st, 2023, the Webometrics announced the latest list of 2023 the world’s university ranking. Cihan University-Erbil has achieved significant academic progress at the level of public and private universities in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the world. The University has made progress by 398 places among world universities within just six months.
Achieving this level is due to the efforts and abilities of students, employees, lecturers, quality assurance staff and university research centers. Besides, the media and IT team, over the supervision and guidance of the university presidency, made their best endeavor and played a crucial role to gain this result.
On January 31, 2022, Webometrics published the ranking list of universities for 2022, at which time Cihan University-Erbil was undergoing a considerable development on the level of public and private universities in Kurdistan Region and Iraq in a way that the University could make a progress by 4,370 places worldwide in just one year. In 2021 Cihan University-Erbil ranked 9,100 among universities in the world, but in early 2022 rankings made a remarkable progress and reached 4730. In January 2023 ranking, Cihan University-Erbil reached 4,332 which shows that it is moving towards top universities in the world.
This ongoing progress at Cihan University-Erbil is considered an important scientific achievement and encouraging news for all students, lecturers and staff of Cihan University-Erbil.
