Cihan University–Erbil Student Showcases Kurdish Culture in Poland
As part of the international exchange program activities in Poland, the University of Łódź hosted a multicultural event for international students, where a student from Cihan University–Erbil delivered a compelling presentation on the culture and history of Kurdistan. Aland Sherzad Ibrahim, a sophomore in the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University–Erbil and currently an exchange student at the University of Łódź, participated in the Country Introduction event. The program aims to foster global connections by introducing international students to diverse identities, histories, and heritages.
During the event, Aland Sherzad provided an in-depth overview of Kurdistan’s ancient history and cultural richness. He introduced the audience to traditional Kurdish attire, folk dances Halparke, and authentic Kurdish cuisine. Furthermore, he engaged the participants by teaching them basic Kurdish phrases and expressions, capturing the interest of students from various countries. The attendees gained firsthand insight into the customs and humanitarian values of Kurdish society.
This event served as a significant platform for cross-cultural dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of mutual understanding. Aland Sherzad expressed his pride in representing Cihan University–Erbil and Kurdistan at this international academic forum. He highlighted his satisfaction in showcasing Kurdish heritage and traditions in the heart of Europe, presenting a positive and professional image of Kurdistan’s academic institutions to the international student community.
