Cihan University-Erbil Tops All Private Universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in Latest Web of Science Citation Rankings
In the most recent citation reports – Web of Science (WoS) citation rankings for universities worldwide (2019-2023) which was released on Friday, May 31, 2024, Cihan University-Erbil achieved the top position among all private universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. Concurrently, the University of Kurdistan ranked fourth among all public and private universities within the Kurdistan Region.
According to the same ranking, it states that World University – Erbil recorded 824 documents in WoS-indexed databases. In this latest edition, Cihan University-Erbil has accumulated 14,949 citations from its WoS-indexed documents, thereby achieving the highest impact factors.
Citations in Web of Science (WoS: Clarivate Analytics) serve as a crucial resource for higher education students, researchers, and educators, providing essential information and scientific support. This platform underpins the dissemination of books, scientific research, and academic publications.
In this latest edition, spanning the years 2019-2023, a total of 86 universities and colleges in Iraq are registered with WoS. Among these institutions, Cihan University-Erbil ranked 8th overall, encompassing both public and private universities in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
