Civil Engineering activity Report for the academic year 2018-2019
- Scientific Visit Activity for the Engineering Projects:
- The Department of Civil Engineering provided an educational trip for the students to see a 2-story apartment of Empire Company project on December 12, 2018. The purpose of the trip was to introduce students with the strength of the concrete, the pillars of the multistory apartments and installing ways of windows and stairs.
- Civil Engineering department organized a scientific visit to 120 m Road Project in 24thFebruary 2019 Under Supervision Assist. Lecturer Dlzar Bakr Qadr. Actually, This Project is under Construction by Hemn Group Company. The project manager was explained all the questions that have been asked by the students and also the students were familiarized with the significant points and methods that should be undertaken during construction of the highway projects such as: (Site Investigation, Highway Cross-Section Elements, Geometric Design, Drainage System, and Traffic Interchange).
- Civil Engineering Department organized a scientific trip for the 2ndyear students under supervision Prof.Dr. Sabih Hashim on Sunday 24th February 2019 to three construction sites within Erbil city area. The aim of the trip is to show the students the main types of structural systems usually used in the construction process and the main features of each one. During this trip, students experienced three types of structural systems, Space Trusses, Ribbed and flat plate slabs, and traditional reinforced concrete building.
- Civil Engineering department organized a scientific visit to Erbil Construction Materials Exhibition for the 1stand 3rdyear Students on Wednesday 24th April 2019 Under Supervision Assist. Lecturer Dlzar Bakr Qadr. Actually, the purpose of this visit is to familiarize the students with the behavior of the new techniques for construction of the building materials that have been used nowadays.
- Scientific Visit Activity to the Building Constructions Factories:
- The Department of Civil Engineering provided an educational trip for second-year students to observe a ready-mix concrete construction company/ Falcon Group on December 11, 2018. The purpose of the trip was to introduce students to making Ready-mix concrete and different ways of making it. Later, the students visited the workplace of Dubai Residential Project.
- On Tuesday 19/2/2019, Civil Engineering Department organized a scientific visit for first-year students under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Noori Sadeq Ali to Khalat stone factory-Erbil. The aim of this visit is showing the different types of stones, their properties and the steps for using it in the buildings for the students to become more familiar with the theoretical part.
- Voluntary Activity Work:
- Civil engineering Department organized a voluntary visit on 7thApril 2019 to (Hana autism Center Charity) under the supervision of Mr. Waleed Mohammed Qader. In this visit, the Students of Civil Engineering Department participated the daily activities with Children in the center and noticed the needs of the center.
- Civil Engineering department organized a voluntary visit to Hanara Resort for the 1st and 3rd year Students on Wednesday 24th April 2019 Under Supervision of Assist. Lecturer Dlzar Bakr Qadr. The purpose of this visit to clean the natural area, collect the wasted area, to provide a healthy clean environment and to tell the students the significant role of voluntary works for the healthy environment.
