Computer Science Department Organized a Visit to Canadian International High School to Enhance Public Awareness of Artificial Intelligence

The Department of Computer Science at Cihan University – Erbil Organized a Visit to the Canadian International High School on Monday, October 14, 2024. This visit was part of a community campaign aimed at increasing awareness of the importance and current applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the world.

We extend a special thanks to Mr. Karim Chourbaji, the Head of the Middle and High School at the Canadian International School along with the school’s staff, who provided invaluable support to facilitate this opportunity for students.

The fourth stage students of the Computer Science Department, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Alyaa Asaad Mahdi, successfully delivered a presentation titled “The Features and Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”. In their presentation, they covered the definition and history of AI, its main benefits, and examples of AI applications. They also focused on the role of AI in the future job market.

The purpose of this awareness campaign is to provide a scientific definition of AI and its uses in today’s world, highlighting the importance of AI across various sectors. Additionally, the campaign seeks to address the ethical considerations involved in the use of AI.
