A Visit to the Empire Cinema by Fourth-Year Translation Department Students

A group of fourth-year students from the Department of Translation at Cihan University-Erbil visited the Empire Cinema on Sunday, October 13, 2024. This visit, which was organized by lecturers Laila Bahjat Sharif and Rojin Husseini, aimed to help students gain experience in real media translation practice, identify problems, and discover effective solutions.

Furthermore, this visit intended to relate theoretical and practical sciences, which the department always strives for. The visit also represents one of the most important labour markets, as it highlights the various types of media translation and skills such as audio, writing, editing, and rhetoric. In addition to increasing students’ knowledge of culture and civilization, which is one of the most essential requirements for a translator, this visit enhanced their listening and speaking skills.

The translation Department at Cihan University-Erbil always seeks to connect students with the latest developments in the labour market and provide hands-on experience to produce qualified graduates and improve their performance and skills.
