Computer Science Department Students Present Seminar on AI-Powered Education at Hawler Computer Institute

Second-year students from the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University–Erbil presented a seminar titled ‘AI-Powered Education: Exploring NotebookLM and Intelligent Tools for Teaching and Learning’ at Hawler Computer Institute on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Supervised by Assistant Lecturer Sara Jamal Hussein, the seminar focused on introducing participants to practical applications of artificial intelligence in education.

During the seminar, Arya Rahim Abdulrahman introduced the role of AI in education, while Naz Mohammed Jawad demonstrated NotebookLM’s source-uploading features and talked about the audio and video overviews.

Next, Rone Hoissein Aziz explained source-based answers, summaries, study guides, and organized notes. The seminar was followed by Parwar Andam Sabah, who presented on exam preparation strategies using AI-generated materials and structured study plans.

Additionally, Ibraahim Rekan Mawloud discussed collaborative learning, resource sharing, teamwork, and critical thinking.

The last presenter was Didar Ibrahim Tawfeeq, who demonstrated tools for summarizing materials, organizing information, and creating learning roadmaps.

The activity provided participants with practical knowledge of educational AI tools, highlighting their potential to support more organized, interactive, and accessible learning.
