Conducting a motivational discussion session for the first-year students
On March 10-2021, the Department of Business Administration organized a motivational dialogue session under the supervision of the Assistant Lecturer, Bushra Ali It was presented by the top graduated students in 2019-2020Arman Hassan and Shara Hadi for first year students. The seminar was presented to raise their awareness more about the new academic stage that they are going through namely ‘college level’.
The seminar dealt with topics related to studying, students goals, encouraging the students to study and get use of enriching academic information in the Business Administration specialty. This seminar focused on three main topics. The first topic included informing students about the university level and its importance, there was a summary about the differences between high school and university. in addition to how to deal with lectures and concentrate on visiting the library on an ongoing basis.
While the second section included talking about success factors within the university stage and how to invest their time in the best way, how to avoid falling into problems of accumulating lessons on students in the day of the exam. Allocating a certain time every day for reading, whether for educational purposes or reviewing the cumulative study materials, which makes students always ready for the exam. In addition to increasing their cognitive awareness, which makes them more able to organize their lifestyle between studying and entertaining themselves.
The third part discussed the practical reality after graduation and the urgent need for students to arm themselves with the three main languages, Kurdish, Arabic and English, and practice of the language in their daily academic life as it is basic means and a fundamental requirement for being accepted in any job nowadays. The motivational seminar included many interventions from the students and a series of questions that were posed to the organizers of the seminar. This seminar was held at the VIP Hall-Cihan University.
