Department of International Relations and Diplomacy holds a workshop on the relationship between the Central Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government
Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at Cihan University – Erbil organized a workshop entitled (Political and Legal Mechanisms for Resolving the Oil and Gas Crisis between the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government) for the period from 16-17/3/2022.
The work of the workshop was launched on the first day in the presence of Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawi, President of Cihan University – Erbil, the University’s Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Students, Dr. Abdul Sattar Karim Saeed, and a number of teachers from various scientific departments.
The first day of the workshop included two pivotes. The first was presented by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ismail Muhammad, his lecture was entitled (The Political Dimension of the Oil and Gas Problem in the Kurdistan Region).
Subsequently, Assistant Professor Dr. Sardar Qadir Mohieldin presented the second topic entitled (Managing Oil Wealth According to the Federal Constitution).
At the conclusion of the first day, the attendees asked a number of questions and academic and analytical interventions enriched the workshop’s pivots.
The second day of the workshop was held on Thursday, 17/3/2022, with two pivotes. The first, Prof. Dr. Kovind Hussein Sherwani, presented his lecture entitled (The Impact of the Oil and Gas Crisis on Energy Security in the Kurdistan Region).
While the Lecturer, Dr. Muhannad Abdul Rashid, presented the second seminar entitled (Options of the Kurdistan Region to deal with the Federal Court’s decision regarding the oil and gas law.
After completing the presentation of the second day, the audience opened the way to put forward their opinions and questions, which were answered by the specialists, as well as presenting a set of political proposals that resulted from the subjects of the workshop, which could contribute to solving the oil and gas crisis between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
