Department of Optometry and Vision Techniques Students Conduct Vision Screening Campaign at Sava Private High School

As part of the social activities organized by Cihan University–Erbil, a group of students from the Department of Optometry and Vision Techniques conducted a vision screening health campaign for students of Sava Private High School on Wednesday, 4 February 2026.

The campaign was carried out under the direct supervision of Assistant Lecturer Omar Adil Mohammed Ali, Head of the Department, in cooperation with Ainkawa Optics Center, and with the support of Mr. Hoshmand Sahand, Director and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sava Educational Group.

During the campaign, the department’s students performed accurate electronic vision examinations for the school students and provided health guidance on eye safety and proper eye care. They also delivered a brief and accessible introduction to the Optometry and Vision Techniques specialization.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Hoshmand expressed his appreciation for such initiatives and emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation between the education and higher education sectors to connect academic knowledge with practical application and community service. He also praised the students’ efforts and their positive engagement.
