Students from the Department of Optometry and Vision Techniques Visit the Eye Center

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, the Department of Optometry and Vision Techniques at Cihan University – Erbil organized a scientific visit for its first-year students to the Eye Center at the Swedish Hospital in Erbil under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Maan Safaa.

The students were received by Dr. Anas Dhari, who provided a comprehensive scientific and practical explanation of the equipment and instruments used for vision testing and the diagnosis of eye diseases. He described the operation of visual acuity testing devices, refraction assessment equipment, and the slit lamp, as well as devices used for fundus examination and intraocular pressure measurement, highlighting their role in the early detection of various eye diseases. Additionally, he discussed the key equipment used in the treatment of vision problems, emphasizing the importance of accurate examination, proper patient preparation, and adherence to safety and hygiene procedures within the Eye Center.

Dr. Anas Dhari then outlined the daily workflow of the Eye Center, the organization of patient flow, and the principles of professional and compassionate patient care. He stressed the importance of effective communication and building trust to ensure patient comfort and the delivery of high-quality healthcare services, particularly in a clinical setting.

The visit ended with the students expressing their sincere appreciation to the management of the Swedish Hospital and the staff of the Eye Center for their warm reception and cooperation.
