The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Honors Cihan University–Erbil for Humanitarian Aid to Chamchamal
In recognition of its humanitarian and national contributions, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHE) of the Kurdistan Regional Government has officially issued a formal letter of appreciation to the Presidency of Cihan University–Erbil for its significant role in supporting those affected by recent challenges in the Chamchamal district.
This commendation follows the university’s active participation and financial contributions to a relief campaign dedicated to assisting families and individuals in Chamchamal and its surrounding areas.
In an official letter issued on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, and signed by Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry stated its appreciation and conveyed the Minister’s wishes for Cihan University–Erbil’s continued success in both its academic mission and humanitarian initiatives.

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, a high-level delegation from the Ministry, headed by Minister Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, visited Chamchamal to oversee the delivery of university-led aid. Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University–Erbil, accompanied the ministerial delegation to personally supervise the distribution of the university’s contributions.
Commenting on the initiative, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi stated:
The University Presidency, faculty members, academic staff, employees, and students all contributed financially to this campaign. In addition, Cihan University–Erbil has decided to donate a substantial collection of academic books and scientific resources to the Chamchamal Public Library and Charmo University. This initiative aims to revitalize the intellectual environment of the region and provide essential resources for students and researchers.
