Department of Public Administration Organizes Scientific Visit to the General Directorate of Budget – Ministry of Finance and Economy in Erbil

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Department of Public Administration at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for second-year students, supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmood Al-Bashkali. The visit was to the General Directorate of Budget under the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq.

The student delegation was warmly received by Mr. Ahmed Mohammad Ababekr, Director of Revenue and Expenditure, who delivered an engaging presentation on the directorate’s key functions and its pivotal role in preparing the region’s general budget. He also discussed the types of revenues in the Kurdistan Region and how they are classified, managed, and allocated within the government’s financial framework.

At the end of the visit, the students, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmood, extended their heartfelt thanks to Mr. Ahmed and the staff for their warm hospitality and valuable cooperation. The visit proved to be an enriching educational experience, offering students practical insights into the workings of public finance and equipping them with knowledge that will support their future roles in governmental institutions.
