Department of Public Administration Students Conduct Scientific Visit to the General Directorate of Planning and Follow-up

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, fourth-year students from the Department of Public Administration at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a scientific visit to the General Directorate of Planning and Follow-up at the Ministry of Trade and Industry under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Bashkali.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Engineer Swar Aziz Ali, who provided an overview of the directorate’s role in planning and monitoring government activities. He also explained its main responsibilities in managing and implementing administrative plans and government projects effectively.

During the visit, the students gained valuable insights into the directorate’s decision-making processes, particularly the role of centralized decision-making and the responsibilities of various administrative departments in implementing directives and monitoring progress.

The students also learned about the main functions of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, including regulating commercial activities, monitoring market conditions and commodity prices, protecting consumer rights, and supporting domestic industries and local production.
