Dr. Nawzad Yahya announces a project to connect the university to the labor market
For getting benefit from the capabilities of students and linking the learning process with the labor market, Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajker, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cihan Universities, announced an important project.
In the context of the meeting that was held on Tuesday 26/1/2021, Dr. Amjad Saber Al- Dalawy, President of Cihan University – Erbil welcomed the staff members first and said “Today is an important day for Cihan University. Since the Board of Trustees of Cihan Universities announced a project to revitalize the relationship between the university and the labor market.
In the meeting, Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajker gave a brief overview of the importance of universities in society, and then he talked about the capabilities and competencies of university professors in developing society in various fields. He said “It is important that the university includes a group of professionals, academics and qualified teachers, but more importantly is how they can share the knowledge and information they have with students and the community. Moreover, he added that exchanging knowledge is one of the most important pillars of community development.
In another part of his statements, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cihan Universities told the staff “Each one of you has a set of unique skill and knowledge. I am sure that some of you have important projects to improve your society, so I would like to inform you that all professors of the university departments need to prepare a project. We also fully support you financially and morally to implement your projects”.
Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajker explained for the staff more about the purpose of the project and said “ We have a large human capital, and we have a group of talented young students. These young students should be guided to become innovative in their society. It is the duty of the university and university professors not only to grant certificates, but also to teach students how to be creative. In addition, he added that we do not learn only from success, problems and failure teach us a lot as well, just as COVID-19 did”.
At the end of his speech, Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajker encouraged the instructors to look for a bright future for our new generations because they are the leaders of society. Dr. Nawzad finalize his speech by saying “I will present a special reward for the best three projects”.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawy, President of Cihan-Erbil, clarified the content of the project and said “Within a week, each member of the faculty must present an idea to the presidency of the university to implement as a project. Each project must include ten students. The projects are related to developing and linking the students’ abilities and skills with the labor market”. In addition, he assured that the project should depend on the students ideas and all the parts of the team should be involved in the implementation of the project.
