Media Department Students Visit the Central Library of XANI Organization in Duhok

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil organized a field visit to the Central Library of XANI Organization in Duhok for second- and third-year students as part of their scientific and field activities in the city. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim.

At the beginning of the visit, the supervising lecturer and students were warmly received by Mr. Bayar Zawitey, Head of Cultural Activities at XANI Organization. He expressed his pleasure at receiving the delegation and highlighted the organization’s important role in enriching Kurdish literature and preserving cultural heritage. He noted that XANI Organization has published more than 80 titles by writers and researchers from the region and Kurdistan. He also explained that the central library houses thousands of books covering a wide range of subjects, including literature, art, politics, philosophy, history, sociology, media, and culture, making it a valuable resource for students and researchers.

Following the introduction, the students toured various sections of the library, exploring shelves containing both rare and contemporary books. They expressed their admiration for the library’s extensive collection and historical archives. The students also learned about the library’s cataloging system, resource classification methods, and procedures for organizing and making printed publications accessible to readers.

In conclusion, on behalf of the Head of the Media Department, the activity supervisor, Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Bayar Zawitey and all staff members at the Central Library of XANI Organization for their warm hospitality and for providing Cihan University-Erbil students with this valuable educational and cultural opportunity.
