Metaphor in English

On 12 th of April 2017,assistant lecturer Yusra Mohammed Salman,a teaching staff member of the department of English,presented a seminar entitled`Metaphor in English`with the attendance of the head of  English and Translation departments Mr. Akram I.Danial and some lecturers from the two departments.The presenter mainly focused on the notion of Metaphor as an important figure of speech containing an implied comparison in which a word or phrase ordinarily and primarily used for one thing is applied to another.She also talked about the different definitions of Metaphor and the main purposes behind using such a metaphor in English supported by various examples and explanations related to the topic.
