Physiotherapy Department: A Visit to the Erbil Physical Rehabilitation Center

On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, third-year students from the Physiotherapy Department at Cihan University-Erbil visited the Physical Rehabilitation Center of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Erbil. Held under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Asma Gholam Reza, they were warmly received by the center’s director and Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Husni Ali.

The primary objective of the visit was to introduce students to the steps and techniques involved in manufacturing various types of prosthetic limbs for individuals with special needs. During the visit, they gained insights into the advanced equipment used in prosthetic production and learned about the crucial role of physiotherapy in the rehabilitation process, which helps improve mobility and the quality of life for patients.

They also observed the production process and received detailed explanations about different prosthetic designs tailored to various needs. This hands-on experience enhanced their understanding of rehabilitation practices and reinforced the importance of physiotherapy in assisting individuals with disabilities.
