Raising Awareness about Occupational Safety
On January 26th, 2021, the Accounting Department, Cihan University – Erbil organized an awareness lecture on occupational safety in the academic hall for the lecturers of the department.
The lecture was given by Muhammad Abdullah who is an employee in the Civil Defense and the student in the Accounting Department (Evening Study) at Cihan University – Erbil.
The aim of the lecture was to raise awareness about occupational safety, train to deal with fires during their occurrence, and to know about the responsibilities of civil defense.
Furthermore, the types of materials that cause fire consisting of solid, liquid and gas materials, and the factors that cause fire, such as electricity, radiation, spark and other types of fires were explained.
And finally, the attendees learnt how to deal with fire accidents of all kinds, how to identify the supplementary materials in extinguishing fires, and how to use different types of existing fire extinguishers and the materials they contain.
