students of Civil Engineering conducted an exploratory tour of some buildings

On 20 February 2022, a group of students from the second stage of Civil Engineering conducted an exploratory tour of some buildings of Cihan University-Erbil to investigate the existence of cracks and their types, put forward the reason for their formation, and research into the possibility of treating them.

The trip included the search for poetic and virtual cracks in and out of some multi-story buildings and using a crack detection microscope, which revealed vertical, consensual, and shear cracks with different diameters and lengths ranging from 1-3 mm to 1-2.5 m, respectively. Students explained the causes of cracks and the importance of studying the causes and showing ways to treat them and reduce them.
