Students of the Biomedical Sciences Department Organized a Medical Activity

As the usual activities of the Biomedical Sciences Department students of Cihan University-Erbil, a medical activity was organized at Sami Abdulrahman Park on 6 October 2022 (Thursday).

The activity was supervised by Head of the aforementioned department, Dr. Ali M. Hussein. On this day, the students were engaged in receiving visitors, especially the elderly. They focused on every single detail of those suffering from stomach disease or diabetes. Lifotronic technology was used for measurement purposes to detect diabetes and a type of stomach bacteria, namely H. Pylori. Also, the measurements of heart rate and body oxygen before and after exercise were made. The students ran almost 120 and 25 tests for diabetes (HbA1c) and H. Pylori, respectively. They sent the test results to the same visitors via email or provided them with the hard copy test results 15 minutes later.

Having the students participate in this activity and giving them the opportunity to face real working life are parts of the advanced educational methodology.
