THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ORGANIZED A SCIENTIFIC VISIT TO UNITED NATIONS IN ERBIL

On 9 October 2022 (Sunday), the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University – Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ms. Bushra Ali and Head of the Department, Dr. Hawkar Qasim Birdawod organized a scientific visit for the fourth-stage students to the United Nations SWEDO Organization in Erbil.

SWEDO Organization of the United Nations is a non-profit organization whose main objective is humanitarian relief and development away from religious or political affiliations. It was founded in Sweden and started to have an effective presence in the Middle East in 1991, with employees within the regional and international scope.

A meeting was held during the visit with Mr. Bahez Saber, the community mobilization team leader, in the camps of IDPs and refugees in Erbil, and his team members. The meeting included discussing the work mechanisms of the organization in terms of humanitarian and administrative terms, and how to provide psychological support to different age groups inhabiting the camps of Syrian refugees or Iraqi displaced persons.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Hawkar Qasim Birdawod and Ms. Bushra Ali intended to carry out joint projects with SWEDO Organization in the future to support humanitarian work.
