Students of the Department of Nursing and Community Health paid a visit to the Transmitted Diseases Department in Erbil.
On Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, students from the Department of Nursing and Community Health at Cihan University – Erbil embarked on a visit to the Directorate of Health Protection Affairs, specifically the Transmitted Diseases Department in Erbil.
Under the guidance of Assistant Lecturer Aram Muhammad, the students delved into several crucial sections within the directorate, including Disease Control, Health Awareness, and Primary Health Care Departments. This visit provided an opportunity for students to gain insights into prevention methodologies and strategies aimed at empowering communities to safeguard themselves against such diseases.
The primary objective of the visit was to acquaint students with the diverse functions of a Directorate, fostering an understanding of monitoring, prevention, and treatment protocols for transmitted diseases. Moreover, the visit aimed to heighten students’ awareness regarding the pivotal role of healthcare professionals in combatting disease transmission and advancing public health initiatives.
Expert clinicians and public health educators facilitated informative sessions covering a spectrum of transmitted diseases, encompassing HIV/AIDS, malaria, hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
