Subtitling Translation

Dr.Mayyed Jumma presented a seminar entitled `Subtitling Translation` on the 14 th of April 2015 with the presence of the Head of English and Translation Departments Dr.Imad Raffat and a group of teaching staff in both departments.

The seminar included comprehensive explanation about `Subtitling Translation` and all the factors which translators take into consideration when translating subtitling such as the language distance between the SL and the TL,the translated texts subject matter,the language dominancy,and the translator`s level of acquaintance with the various cultural facets of both the TL and the SL .Considerable time was given to questions and general discussion.
