THE CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT ORGANIZED A VISIT TO CIHAN TEACHING HOSPITAL

On 19 September 2022, a group of third-stage students from the Department of Civil Engineering, Cihan University-Erbil visited the Cihan Teaching Hospital, near Cihan University-Erbil. This project occupies 18 dunums and consists of 15 floors with green spaces and a parking garage.

The completion rate of 30% allows students to learn about and watch the design and construction processes of the structural system, which consists of columns, supports, and the maximum amount of force it can withstand. In addition to that, the roof casting technique, the reinforcing method, the iron used and its measurements have been carefully explained by the supervising engineer.

In conclusion, the students underlined the significance of the trip in terms of learning new skills, keeping up with the advancement of construction projects, and connecting academic knowledge with the realities of the workplace.
