The Department of Graphic Design Students Gain Hands-On Experience at Print 24K
On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, students from the Department of Graphic Design at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Saja Abdulhadi, participated in a scientific field visit to Print 24K. The visit aimed to familiarize students with the latest printing technologies and the process of transforming digital designs into high-quality printed products.
Upon arrival at the printing facility, the students were warmly welcomed by Noor Munim Saud, a graphic designer specializing in social media content design. She provided a comprehensive overview of the printing workflow, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between designers and printing professionals to ensure the production of high-quality, print-ready designs that meet industry standards.
Following the introduction, the students received a detailed explanation of the various stages of printing, including file preparation, plate-making, the printing process, and final finishing techniques such as embossing and lamination. They also explored the different types of paper used and their impact on print quality, as well as color management techniques to achieve accurate and consistent printed results.
The visit gave students an opportunity to actively engage with the printing process, gaining valuable insights into the challenges of the industry. They also learned how to prepare their designs to align with professional printing requirements, significantly enhancing their technical skills.
This visit is part of a series of scientific and practical activities organized by the Graphic Design Department at Cihan University-Erbil, aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications.
