The Department of International Relations and Diplomacy opened a diplomatic wall
On Wednesday, April 7th, 2021, the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy opened the Department’s diplomatic wall. The wall included the Department’s profile in three languages (Kurdish, Arabic and English), paintings and info graphics on the geographical and legal frameworks for international relations, which is the administrative map of the Kurdistan region, the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in both languages (Kurdish and Arabic), which are the main source of international humanitarian law, as well as the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, which is the main source of diplomatic relations.
There were also Security Council Resolution No. 688/1991 to stop the suppression of the civilian population and allow international humanitarian aid to arrive, and the decision issued by the National Council of Iraqi Kurdistan on 10/04/1992 which stipulated the declaration of the Federal Union for the Kurdistan Region and the definition of legal relations with the central authority.
With regard to international organization, the United Nations Organization Structure Board was added to the wall. Lecturer Amanj Ali Othman, head of International Relations and Diplomacy Department, the department’s lecturers, and some students participated in the opening of the wall.
