The Department of Media Students Participate in a Workshop as Part of the “Be Part of the News” Campaign

To enhance digital media skills and build bridges of cooperation with students, Cihan University – Erbil hosted journalist Ms. Solange El Rassi from the Akhbar Al Aan team.

In the presence of the Head of the Media Department, Assistant Lecturer Abeer Mahmoud Jabbar, department professors, and several students from different academic levels, journalist Ms. Solange El Rassi conducted an interactive workshop titled “Be Part of the News” on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in the academy hall at Cihan University.

During the workshop, Ms. Solange El Rassi discussed the importance of changes in modern media and transformations in content and work. She also talked about citizen journalism and how students can practice professional media work even in the early stages of their studies, which modern media allows. The students shared their opinions, interventions, and questions.

At the end of the workshop, Ms. Solange El Rassi distributed participation certificates to the students, wishing them continued success.

Afterward, Ms. Solange El Rassi visited Cihan TV and Radio and was closely briefed on the capabilities of the TV channel and radio station, and their support for students in media work and training during their time at the university. She praised the university’s ability to provide effective television and radio broadcasting facilities that serve as real centers for training students in media and broadcasting their activities, motivating them to work and develop.

At the end of her visit, Ms. Solange El Rassi thanked Cihan University – Erbil for providing the opportunity to meet with the students, learn about their abilities, and observe the facilities at Cihan University – Erbil.
