The Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies Organized an Awareness Campaign

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, students from the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department at Cihan University – Erbil organized an awareness campaign to promote a culture of recycling and highlight its importance in environmental preservation and sustainable community practices. This initiative aligns with the university’s policy of supporting sustainable development goals and raising environmental awareness.

Supervised by Assistant Lecturer Omar Adil, Head of the Radiological Imaging Technologies Department, the campaign included the design and distribution of educational brochures that emphasized the environmental and economic benefits of recycling. These brochures were distributed at various locations across Erbil city.

The campaign also featured fruitful collaboration with several business projects that offered special discounts to individuals who carried the brochures, thereby encouraging positive community engagement.

The initiative received direct support from Asiacell in Iraq, which contributed to its broader impact and wider reach within the community. Assistant Lecturer Omar Adil emphasized the importance of such student-led activities in advancing sustainable development goals and fostering a spirit of initiative among students.

This campaign stands as a practical example of how higher education institutions can promote sustainable development and help cultivate a generation that is aware, responsible, and dedicated to protecting the environment and building a better future for all.
