The launching the second phase of the “Plant for the Future” campaign
On 12-19-2022, the second phase of the “plant for the Future” reforestation campaign, which is organized by the Business Department, was launched, in the presence of a group of business administration students from all academic levels, and under the supervision of assistant Lecturer Bushra Ali and Dr. Qusay Hamid Al-Salami, as part of a series of visits to a number of schools within the activities massive reforestation campaign.
The activities of the second phase of the campaign included a visit to Al-Nasr High School for distinguished students of internally displaced people (IDPs) living in Erbil. In this visit about 30 trees were planted; trees such as olive trees, praise and pomegranate trees, in addition to a group of ornamental plants.
The visit finished with an awareness lecture for the school students. The lecture focused on the importance of afforestation and agriculture to preserve the environment. Nowadays, due to the increased air pollution rates, diseases like cancer and respiratory problems has become more common. In addition, students’ attention was drawn to the importance of protecting the environment more by increasing green spaces within or outside the city limits.
