The Media Department at Cihan University – Erbil Collaborated with Rudaw Media Network and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to Organize a Media Training Program for Women
The Media Department at Cihan University – Erbil collaborated with Rudaw Media Network and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to organize a media training program for women. Taking place at the Rudaw Research Center in Erbil, the program engaged students from the media department. The training sessions occurred from Sunday, January 21, 2024, to Thursday, January 25, 2024.
The comprehensive five-day training program encompassed various topics, incorporating: Introduction to Principles of Journalism by Beston Osman and Ribaz Ali, News Presentation and Videography/Photography by Nama Nabaz, Sven Hamid, and Billand Taher, Digital Media presented by Barwa Kiani, Sahera Sadek, and Ali Zalmi, Externship and Erbil Tour.
Several second-year students, including Benaz Fadel, Duha Arjoment, and Serwin Siamand, participated in the course. This was followed by the attendance of third-year students such as Kafi Rasul, Sandra Abdul Ghani, Sarwa Kamiran, and Yanusha Bishro. The course witnessed active involvement and distinguished presence from the trainees, highlighting their effective participation.
Rudaw Media Network, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund, envisions training more than 300 women in Iraq within the next 12 months. The initial month will prioritize residents of Erbil Governorate, with subsequent dedicated training for residents of Baghdad Governorate in the following month, scheduled from February 11 to February 15, 2024.
