Under the supervision of Assistant Lecturers Shwana Qadir Perot and Rozhvin Adnan Rasheed, a group of second-stage students from the Department of General Education visited the Amazon Bookstore on May 9th, 2023.
This trip’s objective was to familiarize students with the latest English Language Teaching (ELT) materials, International English Language Testing System (IELTS), and other language-related resources which are considered essential for optimal teaching and learning.
The visit began with a warm greeting from Mr. Manaf Sbin Aziz, the bookstore’s proprietor, and members of his staff. During the visit, assistant lecturer Shwana Qadir discussed the importance of books in improving language skills and highlighted the paramount significance of international language tests, such as IELTS and TOEFL, in preparing students for further studies. The students actively participated in the discussion by providing valuable input through comments and inquiries.
Assistant lecturers Shwana Qadir and Rozhvin Adnan expressed their appreciation to the owner and employees of Amazon Bookstore for their warm hospitality and best wishes for their ongoing success on behalf of the students and the Department of General Education. To broaden students’ knowledge and practical skills, the Department of General Education works to arrange such scientific trips throughout the academic year.
