The UN Visit

A delegation of students and lecturers of  translation departments at Cihan University paid a field visit to the headquarters of the United Nations Mission in Erbil and it was headed by Dr. Imad Rifa`at, the head of both departments.

The visit comes as part of an orientation of the nature and core mission of the UN and the scope of relief work in the KRG region. Cihan University delegation was hosted by Mr. Sokol Condi, chief of mission of UNAMI, who expressed a keen interest in paying Cihan University a visit soon. Furthermore, the two parties agreed on piloting a project of virtual internship program through which students of translation department will be translating materials for the UN. The concept highlights the demand for qualified translators in an increasingly thriving environment.
