The warnings directed by the European Union to the Central Bank

Rudaw satellite channel conducted an interview with the instructor, Prof. Dr. Muwafaq Ahmed Ali Al-Sayedia in the Department of Financial and Banking Science in 2/8/2020, and the interview was titled “Warnings against entering the blacklist of the Central Bank of Iraq”.

They have discussed the warnings directed by the European Union to the Central Bank to include it in the blacklist due to its inability to control the issue of money laundering.

Prof. Dr. Muwaffaq made some suggestions to avoid these warnings, and one of these suggestions was to establish a policy to monitor the transfer of funds from internal and external sources in the country.

In addition, money laundering is one of the biggest issues that started to threaten the country’s economy in recent years and creates problems with the International Monetary Fund and the European Union.
